Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets

So as bad as I don't want to spend none of my Thanksgiving day writing this preview, I guess it's my duty too. Unlike most Cincinnati Bengals,I still look forward to watch the game later this evening, and the remaining games they have on their schedule. It's not like I can deal with the losing, it's because believe it or not the Cincinnati Bengals is not a bad football team, this team actually has more talent across the board than most team in the NFL if not all. Now I know talent alone don't produce wins, if it did we would have more than 2 wins, but talent is definitely the best starting point. Out of 10 games the Cincinnati Bengals has played, there hasn't been one game that they we're not in, and it only been 2 games were they lost by more than 1 score. I know some will say, that have yet to face the hardest part of their schedule which maybe true, but this time is a team that will be able to play with anybody, and I believe they can beat anybody, when they defense show up, because of how dangerous the offense can be. You may not know because of the record, but this offense is in the top half of the league ranking wise but that's another conversation for another day. On this Thanksgiving Thursday the Cincinnati Bengals will be visit the 1st place 8-2 New York Jets. I don't want to take nothing away from this Jets football team but the fact that they have only played 1 game against a team with a winning record and have struggle so much that there last 5 wins has come in comeback type of fashion, I give the Bengals a better chance to win then most would. Do I think they will win??? Well I know this team is as desperate as any, I also see a lot of fight in this team, and yes I think if they come and play they could beat the Jets. The fan in me is going to give the Bengals a 24-21 Win over the New York Jets. Call me crazy, but I really think the Bengals have a chance in this game, two things that's going to decide the game tonight, turnover ratio, and the Bengals defense. If Cincinnati can limit there turnovers, and the defense can put together a game like they did in their 2 wins giving up a combined 17 points, and not the over 20 they have allowed in all 8 losses, Cincinnati will win this game.

Bengals Pre-game Report- Carson in a Boot? T.O. is Talking About Ben, Steelers Locker Room Shooting Back and "Average" Revis.

I think most people have seen the incident this past Sunday when Richard Seymour of the Oakland Radiers, basically punch and dropped might I add Ben Rothlisberger Of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think I speak for most Cincinnati fans when I say I loved it! T.O. on the TOcho stated his feelings on it. “I liked it,” Owens said. “He’d probably do it again for another 25, A hockey player would have took that and kept on tickin’,” T.O. said. “It just shows you how soft Ben is.” T.O. also felt the urge to say "Yeah, Ben’s soft. The guy who played against the Colts with a pair of Mr. Potato Head arms, who made no attempt to tackle safety Aaron Francisco after an interception that resulted from a T.O. short-arm effort, and who made no effort to recover what appeared to be a fumble by Francisco is calling a guy who got knocked to the ground by a cheap shot “soft.” Ochocinco said that Seymour “can’t be swinging on people out there on the field,” comparing the conduct to the WWE. T.O. preferred to invoke a different sport.
I don't think T.O words got around to much of the league, it's not like a lot of people tune into the show, I don't really care to look up the ratings of the show, but I can remember reading a article that basically stated how amazingly low they were. It did get back to the steelers locker room, Ryan Clark, defensive back heard about T.O. feelings on Roethlisburger. On twitter Ryan Clark said, " to T.O. calling ben soft all I can say is That's my teammate, that's my quarterback. As I cry and my lips quiver. Wait, that was him Lol." Makes for an interesting Week 14, Dec. 12th meeting between the two teams. T.O. being T.O. he's been talking a lot lately, last Monday when the Redskins was destroyed by the eagles he tweet'd "What a way to justify that new contract." talking about the contract extension McNabb signed earlier that day. As for this week's opponent the New York Jet's T.O. believe it or not has talked about them as well. What did he say? T.O. calls Jets all-pro corner Darrelle Revis‘ an average cornerback saying "Just an average corner to me,Everybody has assessed his abilities as far as what he did last year, shutdown corner, this and that. He did very well last year. Truly great cornerbacks do it year after year. I think he did it one year, and everybody made a lot of hoopla about it. I think, you know, he started feeling himself, then he wanted to come out and say that I’m a slouch,” All this going back to January when Revis called Randy Moss and Terrell Owens a pair of “slouches”. That's should make the game a little more interesting to watch.
Getting back to football, Carson Palmer didn't practice at all this week, was actually wearing a boot on his foot. So how hurt is Carson? No hurt enough to sit out coach Marvin Lewis said Tuesday, "Carson will play on Thursday night." He's listed as probable on the injury report, and some is calling it a game-time decision, but Carson has went on record saying he will be playing. Roy Williams and Antwan Odom showed up on the injury list as OUT, in the secondary Ghee, Joseph, and Murray are all questionable, expect to see all three of them play in their respective roles.

Bengals-Bills Postgame remarks

BENGALS COACH MARVIN LEWIS
On the game:
“I told the guys I wish I had a magic word to fix where we are, other than the fact that we’ve got to figure out a way internally and individually to not make the critical errors that we’re making at critical points in the football game. Today we had a first half where we did a lot of things right, and we obviously were down a little bit (with injuries) in the secondary as the game went on. We’ve got to figure out a way to limit their (the opposing team’s) production. Getting the receivers and the ball carriers tackled is the biggest thing.

“Offensively, we play, and then we have a critical error that really hurts us. We’re playing our tails off for most of the game. They’re playing right down to the (last) fibers of their bodies and giving everything they’ve got. Guys going back in when they’re injured, but they’re playing their tails off.

“We’ve got a game here upon us quickly. Somehow we’ve got to put this behind us and move forward. We can’t dwell on this one. Obviously there are a lot of corrections to be made, and we’ll see where we are personnel- wise, but we’ve got to move forward.”

CARSON PALMER
What is your assessment of the first and second halves?
“Two different games. We obviously didn’t finish, and in this league it’s about finishing. Finishing football games is what wins, and obviously, we didn’t win and we didn’t finish the game.”

Is this team’s psyche fragile? When things go bad it seems to snowball so quickly:
“I don’t know if that’s the mentality, but that seems to be what you’re talking about with the snowball effect. It’s been one mistake turns into two, turns into three, and then you’re down 10 when you were up seven. That’s obviously a difficult place to be in as a team. As many football games as we have left, we have to fight that feeling, we have fight that mentality and find a way to believe in ourselves and find a way to build some confidence in each other and have that snowball, instead of the opposite.”

You said this week chemistry has been a problem with this team. Is that fixable in a season?
“I think so. The only way to fix something like that is repetitions and work. We did a better job today of, for the most part, guys being in the right spot, lining up in the right places and motioning at the right times and doing all those things offensively. But it’s too late in the season to be talking about building chemistry right now.”

Should we be talking about guys not lining up in the right spot after Week 10 of an NFL season?
“No. That wasn’t an issue today, like I said. But, no, we shouldn’t be talking about that or building chemistry. That’s what the off-season is for. That’s where you build that chemistry, over the summer going into training camp. That’s not something we should be talking about now.”

The guys in there (locker room) made the point of saying the effort is still there, but losing 35-0 in the second half at home to a 1-8 team might suggest otherwise:
“Yeah, I’ve played against teams that turned it in and have quit and I’ve been on teams one time where that was the case, but I don’t believe that’s the case with this team. For the most part we’re fighting to get back in the game when they took the lead, and we just didn’t make enough plays, or the right plays when the time came upon us.”

T.O. (Terrell Owens) said you’re a terrible team. Do you agree?
“I wouldn’t use that word, but we’re not a good team, obviously. We’ve won two games and we’ve played 10. I would use a different word.”

On the interception in the end zone, did that guy surprise you being there?
“He definitely surprised me. I knew where he was, and I tried to fit the ball in, and I shouldn’t have thrown it. I should have tucked the ball in and not thrown it.”

You said you wouldn’t use T.O’s word, but what word would you use?
“Not good. We’re not a good football team.”

TERRELL OWENS
What is it like to be part of a crazy game like this?
“Crazy? What’s crazy is the fact that we’re just terrible. That’s just plain and simple. When I say we, that’s me included. Let me look you in the eyes and emphasize — we are terrible. Terrible. I have no answers for you. I have no sound bytes for you. All I know is, right now, we are terrible. Maybe if everyone wants to blame me, it’s my fault. Maybe I am bad luck. At this point, it is unthinkable — unbelievable — that we can lose a lead like that. And by no means am I taking anything away from the Buffalo Bills. Those guys are talented. They put on their pads and uniforms just like everybody else does. You go into every Sunday thinking it’s an opportunity to win a game, and they took full advantage of that today. I don’t understand. I don’t know what it is. We find ways to lose the game. You would think that, having a lead going into halftime, we could capitalize and build off that. We may go 2-14 at the rate we’re playing.”

Do you know why you were so good in the first half and not so good in the second?
“I have no idea. We’re not good, period.”

Do you take any good out of the first half?
“Why? How can you? You play four quarters, two halves. You play two halves, four quarters, 60 minutes — however you want to look at it. We’ve made enough mistakes in the last (seven) games to last a lifetime.”

Did Buffalo make any adjustments, or was it self-destruction?
“It’s been that way all year. After our second win, it has been self-destruction. I have no clue, no answer for you. I can’t put a finger on it. I don’t know what to do. It’s not like we’re not putting in the effort in practice. We can’t win for losing.”

Is this a breaking point for you?
“I don’t know. I can’t speak for everybody. As I mentioned earlier, we are terrible. I don’t blame the fans for booing us. I don’t blame people for not wanting to come and see the performance we’ve put up the last (seven) ball games. I don’t blame them.”

It’s a short week with a game Thursday. Can the team bounce back?
“I’m going to pray we do. I’m hoping so. I hope we don’t take the disappointment into the game against the Jets. They have a great defense, and their offense is explosive. If we play with the performance that we played with today, it’s over — it’s lights out. We’re playing for pride. We’re going to see what everybody’s made of, myself included.”.............................

CARLOS DUNLAP
What happened to the game plan out there in the second half?
“The defense came out and shut them down to start. A few guys got nicked up and we weren’t able to find our rhythm. I’m at a loss for words right now.”

Did the Buffalo defense do anything different out there?
“Yeah, they made some adjustments. We were doing OK getting some pressure, but once the ball got in their court, we weren’t able to do what we did in the first half. In the first half, we made them play our game, but in the second half, we played their game. We couldn’t execute the things that worked well for us in the first half.”

What were the adjustments they made?
“They converted on turnovers. If you have a turnover, you get momentum. At the end of the day, you have to play football.”

What does this defense have to do in order to get better?
“Play like we did in the first half (of this game) and finish all four quarters.”

REGGIE KELLY
You put up a lot of points, but didn’t come away with the win:
“It’s hard to put into words. I’ve played 12 seasons, and this has to be one of the more disappointing games I’ve played in. We’re a team, and we’ll continue to fight. We’re not going to give up, and that’s a promise.”

This team had high expectations. Is there a way to explain how things have happened this season?
“Every day, the guys come in and practice, regardless of our losses. Everyone is still working hard and that’s not going to stop. After you put so much work in and put your heart into it, it’s disappointing. It takes your breath away. We’re not going to give up. We have six more games to go out and fight hard. We can still turn this around and end the season on a high note.”

It was a drastic change in the second half:
“It was a drastic change. I still felt like we would come back and win the game. I remember starting to pick back up. I really don’t know what to say, but we’ll keep fighting.”

You say ‘everyone will keep fighting.’ Are you confident that will apply to everyone as a team?
“I’m confident. I think the veterans owe it to the younger guys to show them that we need to keep fighting. The NFL is full of ups and downs. You can’t just fight when you’re playing well.”

Reggie, is it hard to describe what just happened?
“There aren’t words. You have to come out and play football. You can’t play football for one half.”

Did they spread you out in the second half?
“They spread it out the entire game. At the end of the day, we just have to line up and play football.”

LEON HALL
Did they spread you out more in the second half?
“I don’t know if they did more than they did in the first. They were down, so they had to put the ball in the air.”

What did the injuries do to you?
“It’s unfortunate when you don’t have your starters out there. But you have to make plays, regardless of who’s one the field.”

It looked like there were some communication issues:
“None that I’m aware of. We had some guys that were left open.”

Steve Johnson was particularly effective:
“Yeah, they did a good job getting him the ball.”

How did they do it?
“They just put him in different areas.”

Did you slip on his last touchdown play?
“It was a false step early on. That was the go-ahead touchdown if I’m not mistaken. You can’t have that in the red zone.”

What about the touchdown after that — it looked like you slipped:
“He came from the other side. That wasn’t my guy, but he was wide open. You can’t have those as a defensive backfield.”

Are you surprised at what Ryan Fitzpatrick did to the defense?
“Considering how we have been playing on defense — yes. We had high expectations. The injuries didn’t help, but that doesn’t matter.”

This being a contract year for Marvin Lewis, are you concerned that there may be a coaching change?
“I don’t see it happening, but I don’t make the rules. We have to put this behind us today and come back tomorrow to work on the Jets"

ANDREW WHITWORTH
With regard to the second half — it’s a matter of adjusting to adjustments, isn’t it?
“Yeah, but it’s also turnovers. The last couple of games, the early turnovers killed us. In this game, the late turnovers killed us. With a big lead, the only thing you shouldn’t do is give the ball back with a turnover, and that’s what we did. We continue to bury ourselves.”

What did you think of the holding call that negated the Terrell Owens touchdown?
“It’s terrible. There was nothing I could do. I got my legs kicked out from under me and the guy drove me over the top of another guy’s legs. I didn’t hold the guy — I got pinned and basically fell down. There was no way I could have pulled him down.”

You went down because your legs were pinned?
“He hit me and my legs got kicked out. He actually got up and said ‘Wow, what a catch’ and started to run down the field. Next thing I know, they called a holding penalty.”

This is Murphy’s Law, isn’t it?
“We don’t really have a lot of things going our way. You have to be a competitor and you have to fight. When guys have their backs against the wall, they have to fight together. If we can’t do that, this will keep happening.”

They fought back on the road and came from behind:
“Yeah, you have to give them credit. They fought their tails off, came back, and won the game. We made it easy for them with the turnovers. When you do that, you’re in a lot of trouble.”

A painful love

How I suffered in your love
How I loved you with all my senses
and how your love never brought me comfort!
How bad your love merely brought me pain!
Your love was nothing but a sizzling desert with no rain!

Your love makes me feel
that there is always something missing!

Like a rail with no train!
Like a genius with no brain!

Like a bed with no pillow!
Like a lonely life with no fellow!

Like a lock with no key!
Like a fish out of sea!

Your love was handicapped!
Like a bird with no wing
Like a bird that can not sing!
Like a crown with no king!

Like a knight with no white horse!
Like a soldier with no force!

I loved you passionately
From my head to toes
I kept on loving you
Even when your heart froze
your love was nothing
but a throne with no rose

But why do I blame you now?
When I am the one who chose
I chose to walk through your hopeless way

I knocked your door that day
I knocked your door
Even when I knew its closed
Even when I was sure!
I didn't turn my back and walk away!

Eye Opener to Open Marriages and Relationships.

When I was first ask to write about this, a couple things went through my mind. One was hell no, two was maybe but how can I when I don't know nothing about this subject Well here I am, after doing a little research, and seriously opening up my mind to really think about both sides of the argument of open marriage here I am punching the keyboard. Originally I was afraid to touch this subject, because of the amount of danger it carries, then I had remember that I'm a un-married single man and had no reason to be afraid. Make no mistake I'm not for open marriage, never have been, and probably never will have to worry about making a decision on it. When I used to here about or see anybody who was in an open marriage or open relationships, I used too frown upon it and who ever maybe involved in it, but after seriously sitting down thinking about and asking some honest people about it, and there experience with it, no I'm not for it, but my disagreement and disgustedly feeling I used to have for it is not that strong strong anymore. I no longer have anything against people who choose this style of relationship as they preference, would I get involve with someone that's in an open marriage or relationship? No, but that's just me. You can find traditional marriages that has last 30, and 40 years or more, it's what we like to call "real love" or "true love". How rare is this though??? Very rare to find these stories of perfect marriages. Of course I know it always wasn't easy times for people who has been married this long, but when you can stay married for that amount of time that is special, that's why I call them type marriages perfect marriages. A few couples are fortunate, the rest figures out a way to settle for less than perfect. For some people believe it or not, for whatever reason traditional marriage makes them miserable. I know what your thinking, once you get to that point, it time for a divorce right? Divorce is not always the answer, some people still love each other unconditionally and just as much if not more as they did when they decided to get married. I think that some people just realize what most of us are afraid to face, which is that expecting one person to fulfill everyone one your needs is unlikely. Now days you hear about the 80-20 rule people love to trow around. For those who don't know what it mean, the 80-20 rules says that your only gone get 80% out of your mate, but somebody comes by with the other 20 and it may look real good when you ain't getting the other 20 from your mate, what happens is you leave the 80 and go for the 20 thinking you getting more, until you find out you actually got much less than what you had. It something like that, you get the idea. Rather you want to believe it or not some people do want the whole 100, some people need the whole 100%. In the sense of the 80/20 rule, open marriage or relationships allow the couple to get the other 20 and ultimately sometimes it makes them appreciate the 80 even more than they may have before. Most people frown upon the thought or idea of an open marriage/relationship, they also frown at the people that they know is involved in one. The frowning usually occur before they even take the time to give it thought or to know the situation between the couple I used to be one of these people. Now I have a different look on this topic, I'm not saying go ask your significant other for an open marriage, or relationship. I'm not going to be the blame for you getting divorced, slapped or dumped, all I'm saying is before you do as most of do and judge or look down on a person for being involved in a relationship of this kind, check yourself because most of you is probably involved in one and don't even know it, or know but it's not an official one. Understand that it's a free country, and you don't know what a couple could be going through or what kind of understanding they have with each other. Also if you care, really sit down and think about this and maybe you'll have a better understanding of why some couples decide to go this route.

Viewing Politics and The Idea of Voting.

Well it's not been too long since polls closed this year. Everybody has stress and stress the fact that everybody needs to vote, everybody has campaign hard for there respective politicians that they like or that they favor. Me, I couldn't tell you the name of not 1 guy that ran for Ohio, which means no I didn't vote. Call me what you want, say what you want about me, but I didn't vote, I never do, and I never will, well I take that back, I did vote for Obama last presidential election but that was only cause the girl I was talking to at the time threatening to stop talking to me if I didn't vote, not for Obama, just vote at all. Shame on me right???? Believe it or not, that's really how I look at politics and everything about, rather it be presidential, senate, congress, mayors all of it is a really big joke to me. Politicians are nothing but people like you and me, well I must take that back, politicians are nothing like you and me. These people are of a different nature the come from money for the most part and all they no is money, you will NEVER see a African American man in office, or a fully black man, the close you'll ever get is a half-breed like your current president. You'll never see a person who got a degree from a community college, or only have a 2yr or 4yr degree or that was born and raised in poverty. You'll never see a person put in any office that worked a typical 9-5, that may not even have any college background but had the drive, discipline and will to retire from there respective company. These are the real american, these are the people who know not only of the ups that goes on living as an American but also the downs, these are the people who had to go through adversity, who really can appreciate good when it comes there way. How can you represent or support somebody, and you never can relate or understand the lifestyle and problems that most Americans go through??? All you see put in to office is people just with ivy league educations and lots of money, and they will continue to do whatever in there power to get richer, not thinking much of nothing about the poor or middle class. Soon there will be no middle class if you ask me, economy is not getting better and the cost to live is getting more and more expensive. The poor has no hope, they keep reaching out for help, but the rich is only going to help the rich, the middle class can't help cause they have to struggle to keep the classification of "middle class". You know people say, "You have to vote, others fought for you to have the right to vote, out of respect you must vote." I believe that it's a shame that we had to fight to vote, and that's just a example of what the country is, and has always been, and the fact that America is so f'd up is a consequence of the fact we had to fight to earn the right to vote, and many other things. Many also say, " If you don't vote, you can't complain" Well, I'm pleased to tell you that I don't complain, I do the best I can with what I got, I play the cards I'm dealt, and do everything in my power to be of some kind of assistance to others. I'm not trying to be one them negative campaign ads, or voice they been talking about, never is it my attention to discourage or try to get people to stop voting, honestly I don't care. My mother, father and brother all vote every election and I have nothing against them for that, then again it is there right. All I'm saying is, don't chastise, try to be-little, or look at me with a look of disgust when you learn I don't vote, just as it is your right to vote, it's also my right not to, the way I respect you and the way you exercise that right, I ask for me, and anybody else who don't vote, I ask that we get the same respect.
